2010 Board Elections
Interested in running for board? We certainly hope so! The 2010 elections will be held on April 28, 2010 in Satow. If you are interested in running, please fill out the application and email it to demselders@gmail.com.
We will be electing the following positions on April 28th:
- President
- Vice- President
- Secretary
- Treasurer
At-Large Positions: Membership Director, Director of Social and Alumni Affairs, Speaker’s Coordinator, Outreach Director, Media Director
Applicants for President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer may “drop-down” if unelected. However, you may only run for one of the at-large positions. So, an unelected Presidential candidate could drop down to VP, and then to Secretary, and then to Treasurer, and then to one of the at-large positions (though we hope that doesn’t happen!)
Each candidate will be asked to give a speech, limited to three minutes. After each candidate for a position has spoken, there will be a question and answer section.
If you have any questions, please email demselders@gmail.com

VOTER REGISTRATION:
Here is the voter registration process.
(1) Check the VOTER REGISTRATION LIST to see if you are already registered to vote. If you’re on this list, you are registered and can vote in our elections.
(2) If you are not on our voter registration list, please email demselders@gmail.com. You will then be asked to have a short conversation with a member of the council of elders to determine whether or not you will be eligible to vote.

Can’t make it to elections but still want your voice to be heard? You needn’t worry. The CU College Dems are firmly opposed to voter disenfranchisement. To qualify to vote on an absentee basis, please send an email to the Council of Elders (the ornate name given to the CU Dems seniors who over see the election process) at demselders@gmail.com with the following pieces of information:
1.) Name 2 Dems events that you have attended this year. We’ve kept an attendance list, but please confirm that you’ve been to two events.
2.) If you have not been two events, then please give a one paragraph explanation for why you haven’t been able to be as involved as you would like and why it’s important to you to have your voice heard in this election.
3.) Please provide a one sentence explanation for why you are unable to attend elections.
4.) The Council of Elders will provide you with an election packet with information about each of the candidates. Please read the packet, as it’s the only way for the candidates to share their visions for the organization with you.
5.) Please cast your vote by sending an email with one vote for each position.
6.) LIVE LONG AND PROSPER!
