It’s about that time of year again: It’s time to campaign!

Hey Activists!

Online registration for the 2010 Pennsylvania Campaign Trip is now OPEN! Please register only if you are POSITIVE you can go on the trip. Feel free to forward this opportunity to your Columbia and Barnard friends as well! Spaces for the trip will be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis, so sign up asap! There will also be a mandatory campaign trip information session at 5:00 PM Sunday, October 24th in a location TBA.

Planned Parenthood of New York City Action Fund Intern

Planned Parenthood of New York City Action Fund Intern
Reports to: Manager of Political Affairs

Planned Parenthood of New York City Action Fund is a not-for-profit organization that engages in legislative education and electoral activity including lobbying and informational campaigns. The Action Fund encourages public and political support for reproductive rights and women’s health care. Action Fund volunteers also work in support of pro-choice candidates around the state. The Action Fund Intern will assist in developing materials, building activist capacity and planning electoral events.

Duties:

  • Provide support for administrative duties related to Action Fund
  • Assist in updating and maintaining Action Fund twitter and facebook
  • Assist in planning canvassing events around New York City
  • Research candidate information and prepare background materials for staff and board
  • Participate in in-district meetings with City Council Members, Assemblymembers and Senators
  • Assist in developing print and web materials for Planned Parenthood of New York City Action Fund, including fact sheets, choice maps, web pages and action alerts.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements: familiarity with NYS government, excellent writing, research and computer skills, commitment to reproductive rights, knowledge of online action programs and organizing experience a plus. Hours: 10-15 a week. Unpaid.
